Cisco CallManager (CCM) is installed to a server class PC and provides basic call processing, features, signaling and connection services to configured devices including IP phones and soft-phones, gateways, and software applications.Delivered with the CCM software is an optional suite of integrated voice applications that perform basic voice messaging, soft-phone, voice conferencing, manual attendant console, and click-to-call. Because CCM is a software application, enhancement to CCM such as the new Video Telephony function, is simply a matter of upgrading software, thereby avoiding expensive hardware upgrade costs. Further, CCM configuration allows all phones, gateways and applications to be distributed across a routable IP network, providing a single, distributed, virtual telephony network.
