VULNERABILITY AND PENETRATION TESTS

The purpose of a penetration test is to measure network infrastructure against known and unknown vulnerabilities that could be exploited to allow unwanted access to a network. Tympani combines a robust suite of multiple security scanning products along with our own on-site engineering expertise to identify and report security vulnerabilities, and pinpoint the exact changes required to prevent unwanted access to your network. Firewall products and anti-virus software provide good protection, but only stop certain types of attacks. Tympani penetration tests are conducted both internally and externally, and examine all connectivity to determine the effectiveness of current safeguards, and the extent of the network vulnerabilities present.

Deliverables from Tympani include hardcopy results of both internal and external scans, as well as a detailed narrative of prioritized security vulnerabilities which can be immediately tightened by Tympani, or performed by a customer organization’s own in-house staff. Similar to the security review and risk assessment, organizations request our internal and external penetration tests, and reporting services on a semi-annual or quarterly basis.
