Cisco has combined wireless and IP technology to create anytime, anywhere connections to the Internet and organization networks. Whether in a campus environment or a distant mobile location, high-speed, secure wireless technology enables users to be constantly connected-even as they move between wireless cells or in and out of wired environments.

Until recently, wireless users would access a corporate network through a network interface card (NIC) using a static encryption key, establish contact through an access point, enter another password for network logon, and encrypt data for transfer. Cisco Aironet access points and wireless network interface cards use a security standard which provides a framework from which users can establish dynamic session keys, or passwords, and put an end to shared passwords.
